IMPORTANT UPDATE: MASKS NOW REQUIRED AT THE BOOK FAIR!
New data this week shows a COVID spike. Because we’re striving to make this event as accessible as possible, as well as safer for ourselves and the wider community, we’ve changed our mask policy from “masks strongly recommended” to “masks required.” The increased risk has persuaded us to increase our response. We would hate for our book fair, which is aiming to empower our communities, to become a “super-spreader event.” We understand that to require masks may seem controversial to some, but if participation in our space under these conditions proves an obstacle to you, please get in touch to discuss alternatives!
Masks will be required for
1) ages 7 up,
2) in all indoor book fair event spaces (First Church and Library),
3) except for kids in the children’s area, where childcare volunteers will remain masked.
We will have some available, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own. Hand sanitizer will also be available. If you have symptoms, we ask that you please do not attend.

The fair will take place indoors, in a well-ventilated room on the second floor of the Fellowship Hall of First Church, Belfast. The entrance at 55 Spring Street Belfast, ME 04915 is ADA accessible.
Nearby handicapped parking is available at 8 Court Street.
A lift to the upper/lower floor is available for those who need it. It requires an attendant at the top for safe use. Please let us know, so we can assist.
Private gender-neutral bathrooms are available on both floors of the hall, although the upstairs bathroom may be less accessible by wheelchairs. Changing stations are available in at least one of the bathrooms.
We ask visitors to avoid strongly scented perfumes/body products/laundry soaps.
The vendor hall could get loud and busy. Space will be available in two locations: 1) on the ground floor of Fellowship Hall, in a room on the left with a sign marked “Quiet Space” (we also recommend enjoying the lawny area outside!); 2) a relaxed, lounge environment with free tea a few blocks away at the community-supported Rockweed Center at 156 High St Belfast, ME 04915 from 11am to 5pm.
Childcare will be available on the first floor of the church. More information is available here.
